Summer rolls on into a blissfull Autumn here in the Algarve. A peaceful and quiet pace of life returns and yet still glorious sunshine, warm nights and a sea beautifully warm for swimming in . All the roads and beaches are empty .Over on the west coast our camper clients are discovering spectacular surf and stunning nightly sunsets . We still have a few week s available for this month and with the flight prices cheap you can still catch yourself an affordable late summer vibes break . A taste of freedom and a top of vit D levels before a long winter. From now until Spring we also allow our campers to travel as far north as Zambura do Mar on the west coast .

Our campervans are classic vans. They are up to 41 years old and whilst being impeccably maintained we cannot forsee every problem that may arise. Portugal does not have a reliable efficient road side rescue service equipped with parts to resolve any problem. We, at Siesta Campers are your breakdown assistance. We have a team of professional VW aircooled mechanics with years of experience, available 24hrs a day. We stock all parts and are on call to speedily resolve any problems.

We normally resolve any problems within a few hours depending on where you are . If the van is not repairable at the side of the road we will either provide you with a replacement van or help you find suitable alternative overnight accommodation whilst we work through the night to get your camper rolling again. Keeping you within the Algarve region means that we will be with you within hours so that you do not waste your precious holiday waiting by the roadside.

These campers were made in the 70's when life trundled along at a slower pace. We believe a holiday in a classic VW allows you to experience life at a more relaxed pace. Driving up to Porto and back in a week would not be a very comfortable, leisurely or chilled holiday. These vans are not designed for cruising 1000's of kilometres on motorways at top speeds, particularly in the summer months in temperatures of 40 + . This kind of holiday better suits a modern car. We believe a siesta camper gives you the rare opportunity to take a break from our increasingly fast daily lives..

INSURANCE

Included in the rental price is a basic 3rd party insurance which covers you for any damage you may cause accidently to another party . You would however be responsible for any damage to our camper unless it was someone elses fault and you had taken their insurance details. We charge according to the extent of the damage, up to a maximum of 2000 euros. This is normal procedure with most hire car companies. However, unlike most big hire car companies, we are very reasonable about costing up any damage as we do all of our own bodywork in our workshops. We are not worried about scratches to the vans and only charge you for dents where we have to fill and paint.
You are also responsible for any damage to the under carriage of the camper, caused by driving on a non tarmac road.

Super Collision Damage Waiver

Your responsibility for any damage can be reduced to zero if you take out the extra insurance (Super collision damage waiver) option of an additional 30 euros a day.Minimum payment 210 euros. This means you pay nothing for any scrapes/dents or major damage.

Collision Damage Waiver

There is a mid way option 2. This reduces the maximum you pay to 500 euros for any damage. This costs an extra 20 euros a day. This means you would pay for any scrapes, dents or major damage up to a maximum of 500 euros .

Free collection from Faro airport. We wait in arrivals with a sign with your name on it.

Camping Equipment

As you will be flying here we advise you to pack light as your van will contain everything you need, although these are well designed they are not 50’ winnebagos and space is limited.

Full tank of unleaded , to be returned with the same.

All our vans are equipped with quality furnishings and fittings. Ensuring you a stylish and comfortable experience.

We have fitted 12v waeco compressor fridges to all of our vans. (not cheap inefficient coolboxes) All of our vans are fitted with italian smev 2 ring hobs.

We can provide a basic hamper to take the stress out of finding a place to go shopping straight away, this includes, mineral water, milk, bread, butter, cheese and cereal. This is included for a small extra cost of 20 euros.

Unless pre agreed we expect our vans to be returned by 11am with a clean interior.
