Bubble was just what we needed (02/03/2010)
Bubble was the perfec companian for our surf trip in Portugal. It was a little bit like travelling with a celebrity. She turned heads wherever we went., was photographed at every oppurtunity and brought smiles on our road trip. She took us to all the best surf beaches and even managed to park next to her much younger sister Fern in Amado for one night. We were accosted by german travelers who recognised her! All in all we traveled slowly not in the least inconspicuously, but felt very privaliged to be with bubble thank you Caroline and Lu (02/03/2010)
Just back from a fantastic holiday, made possible by Claire and Loyd and the wonderful Fern.
From the moment I got in touch with them the team behind Siesta were brilliant. We had long wanted to take a road-trip in a Combi, and to see the Algarve... but really we didn't have much of a clue beyond that ...
We packed up our little family of three, including a 20 month old, and rocked up at Fara airport.. Claire met us, introduced Fern and showed us the basics (take notes because I promptly forgot some of the key bits which Claire patiently reminded me of later when I called her)... and gave us some ideas for places we might like to check out and possible places to stay. Plus she ensured we had a welcome hamper to get us started.
Armed with that briefing and some stories in Fern's log book we set off. We spent the week on the beaches.. a couple of nights east of Faro but mostly on the west coast. Fern was brilliant. She ran smoothly the whole time and we had the ipod dock and fridge to keep us in tunes and cold drinks.
We stayed at some camp sites..and some nights just on the beachfront. The campsites were mostly lovely, affordable and very friendly staff. (Note, some of them are out of town/away from restaurants requiring a bit of to and fro). Fern was always given a warm welcome and her size makes her especially nimble for getting through the streets in more quaint villages.
The weather was amazing. The food in the towns delicious and the beaches beautiful (water cold though)... We all, including our young daughter, had a great time. Thanks Team-Siesta.
